Computing

At Hawksworth Wood Primary School, our computing curriculum is designed carefully to give our pupils the knowledge and skills they require for a digital world.

Each half term, a dedicated thread of online safety runs through our entire curriculum, ensuring that children understand how to be safe in an online environment. Driven by an accessible and challenging scheme, we aim to generate enthusiasm and expertise in the broad range of skills required for our children to thrive in a digital landscape. Digital literacy skills start in EYFS, enabling children to become increasingly more familiar with a variety of digital tools and applications. Competency and creativity are key themes as children learn how digital tools fit into their everyday lives. By the end of their journey, pupils will have learned how to be creative, thoughtful and responsible digital citizens with a strong sense of how the digital world influences their lives and they will be confident and ready for the modern world that awaits them.
